Healing & Maintenance: Lips

Days 1-3

• Lips will feel swollen, tight, & very bold in color
• Mild tenderness & warmth is normal
• Swelling usually peaks day 1 & subsides within 48 hours

Days 3-5

• Dryness & flaking begin
• Color will look much brighter or darker than expected
• Lips may feel chapped

Days 5-10

• Flaking finishes
• Color looks very light or uneven (ghosting phase)
• Don't panic – pigment is setting below the surface

Weeks 6-8

• True color returns & softens
• Time for your perfecting touch-up

Aftercare Do's

• Keep lips clean & hydrated
• Apply aftercare balm frequently
• Drink through a straw (first few days)
• Sleep on a clean pillowcase
• Use a clean utensil when eating
• Stay well hydrated

Aftercare Don'ts (First 7-10 Days)

• No kissing or oral contact
• No spicy, salty or acidic foods
• No hot drinks for 48 hours
• No smoking or vaping (or minimize as much as possible)
• No lipstick, gloss or liner
• No picking or peeling

Cold Sore Disclaimer  (Important)

If you have a history of cold sores, antiviral medication is strongly recommended before & after your appointment. PMU can trigger an outbreak.

Long-Term Lip Maintenance

• Use lip balm with SPF daily
• Avoid excessive exfoliation
• Stay hydrated (dry lips fade faster)
• Touch-ups every 1-3 years depending on desired color
• Sun exposure & lifestyle affect longevity

When To Contact Your Artist

• Severe swelling beyond 48 hours
• Signs of infection or excessive pain
• Any concerns during healing
  

Healing & Maintenance: Eyeliner

Days 1-2

• Swelling & redness (especially upper lids)
• Eyes may feel watery or tight
• Liner will look darker & thicker than expected

Days 3-5

• Mild flaking or dryness along the lash line
• Color begins to soften
• Sensitivity is normal

Days 5-10

• Flaking completes
• Liner may appear lighter or uneaven
• Final shape is still settling

Weeks 4-6

• True color & shape are visible
• Time for touch-up if needed

Aftercare Do's

• Keep eye area clean & dry
• Apply aftercare sparingly as instructed
• Use clean hands at all times
• Sleep slightly elevated the first 1-2 nights
• Wear sunglasses outdoors

Aftercare Don'ts (First 7-10 Days)

• No eye makeup (mascara, liner, shadow)
• No rubbing or touching eyes
• No lash extensions or lash lifts
• No swimming, saunas or hot tubs
• No sweating or heavy workouts
• No contact lenses (first 24-48 hours)

Long-Term Eyeliner Maintenance

• Avoid rubbing the eye area
• Use gentile makeup removers (oil-free near lash line)
• Avoid retinol & acids around eyes
• Annual color refresh recommended (1-3 years depending on style)
• Lifestyle & skin type affect longevity

When To Contact Your Artist

• Excessive swelling beyond 48 hours
• Yellow/green discharge or severe pain
• Vision changes (seek medical care immediately)
  

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) Aftercare

After Care:

We have compiled a list of the most important considerations after your treatment. The aim is to avoid disturbing your new pigment deposits, and of course you should do all you can to avoid any interference with the healing process.

After every session:

Of course, all this needle work will require your scalp to heal a bit, and this means that you cannot allow yourself to interfere with it at all for the next few days. There are scabs that form over each of the needle marks, and when they heal up, they take a bit of the pigment with them. This is considered as fading by many people, even though it is not exactly that.

Following the SMP procedure you may experience some tenderness, redness and some peeling of skin. Please follow these instructions:

• Do not scratch the dry skin off as this may remove pigment.
• Do not shampoo your hair for 5 days.
• Warm water may be used to rinse your head after 3 days.
• Do not apply any product containing Minoxidil.
• Make sure you do not use cosmetics and other products, which contain a high value of alcohol in them.
• Do not apply any styling products for at least 7 days.
• Do not swim in a chlorinated pool or sea water for at least 7 days.
• Avoid excessive sweating for 7 days.
• Make sure you have proper sun protection each time you are in the sun, at least for the scalp, in order to preserve the pigmentation.
  

Your treatment will require 3 sessions to achieve the desired results. Fading of the pigment is expected in between the sessions.
